Canadian brand Muttonhead.
Great colors. Those pants are mid-weight twill sweats. Finally, a good formal sweat pant. I’ve been waiting.
Available at Four Horseman Shop.

We are so excited to be serving up some delicious Gin by Victoria Spirits at the next Mutts & Co. Fall Shop. Victoria Spirits is a company after our own heart, and their Gin is handmade in small batches on Vancouver Island, BC. The distillery is family-owned and operated and it is no wonder why they have become ‘Canada’s first premium Gin’. Victoria Spirits are sold across Canada and will soon be available in New York City as well.
If you haven’t had a chance to try this amazing local Gin, then this is just one more reason to come by the launch party on Saturday night.
See y’all at 88 Ossington (above LeVack Block, entrance on Humbert St.) from 7-11p.
We love to see two great Canadian companies coming together from either side of the country. Brandon from Naked and Famous is famous (forgive the pun) for turning his selvedge denim into origami hats. As you can see in this flick from Four Horsemen in Victoria, we are very excited to be galloping into Four Horsemen next season!

Still Life August 30, 2011
We were so happy to have Toronto’s Muttonhead Collective arrive in time to coincide with this past weekend’s Still Life For Her store launch! Muttonhead brings sisters Mel and Meg Sinclair together with friend Paige Cowan resulting in a refreshingly new brand with the strength and heart of a classic, quality-focussed heritage line. All garments are designed and manufactured in Toronto - as manufacturing locally allows Muttonhead to fully control quality and to guarantee sweatshop free, fair trade and ethical practices. Each collection incorporates natural and sustainable fibres such as recycled hemp, bamboo, organic cotton, merino wool and tencel and utilizes many recycled details such as leather, denim and velvet.
Branded and marketed as a quality, rugged, unisex brand Muttonhead debuts on the women’s side at Still Life For Her today appealing to the strong, adventurous west coast girl who appreciates quality, detail and strong production.Muttonhead supports a lifestyle based on sustainability and responsible consumerism and a return to locally crafted and hand-made. Their movement towards sustainable garments that their consumers can be proud to wear incorporates natural fibres into every garment with the future goal of making the entire brand 100% compostable. Essentially, Muttonhead Collective is manufacturing clothing that adapts to the always-changing, modern environment and lifestyle: it’s simple.
A line of clothing we are proud to finally stock at Still Life, Muttonhead Collective Autumn 2011 is a very strong collection from the young Canadian line. With basic merino wool cropped tees, leather-pocketed organic cotton/hemp long sleeves, stretch cotton with recycled leather breeches and the strongest organic cotton/hemp trouser we’ve ever seen is looking very prepared for a west coast autumn. Also available are a variety of quality accessories including recycled fibre change/card pouches and organic cotton/hemp rucksacks. Muttonhead Collective has been making a lot of waves in the retail fashion game with only a handful of shops internationally stocking the line - come by the new Still Life For Her (550 Johnson Street) and see what Muttonhead is all about.
VIDEO: Commonwealth Legacy Velodrome Grand Reopening
Locals celebrate the re-opening of the Commonwealth Legacy Velodrome. Victoria hosted the Commonwealth Games back in 1994 and for the games the city built one of only a handful of velodromes in all of Canada. The velodrome housed the track riding community here up until 2008 and then was closed due to safety concerns and general neglect. Over the last few years the cycling community and velodrome association was fighting to bring it back, and with a lot of effort and support they were fortunate enough to get it back in action.
